In this day of political correctness...

September 12, 2017

In this age of political correctness , far right and far left politics I think there is a simple solution that breaks down barriers of politics, discrimination and racism. It comes from this quote. " Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country" - John Fitzgerald Kennedy I know you say it cannot be that simple! Here is what i know... When you start serving others and lay down your own agenda it changes everything. It changes your political stance, color of your skin or financial status do not matter. The natural disasters just bring out a very visible example of how this works in time of crisis and its wonderful to see!! On a local level we see it at our church Elevate Life and many of you see it at your church. Not just people serving for disasters which we do, but people serving others every week. I honestly have seen people totally change their lives by simply serving others. I don't fully understand the spiritual mojo of serving, but it works. Bob Dylan famous song said it best "You Got To Serve Somebody" Go help a non profit in your area if you are not in a church and you will see. There will be no agenda other than helping people around you. I guess the bottom line is while serving Its not about you and that is the point. Our lives must be about something bigger than just us it has to be about helping others. Helping them find a purpose, helping them meet Jesus, helping them grow, or simply helping them get out of the ditch. If we would focus on this all the agendas just don't seem so important as we begin to help people change their lives.. One simply act of kindness at a time!
