Whats on your mind or who? When I am on an airplane many times I have time to think, reflect, and focus on my life! So that is always the lingering question what are you focusing on or making important? In my last post I focused on core values or what matters most so you already know my head is in this space. Today though as I drove out of my driveway very early to head to the airport I had the immediate feeling of missing my wife Darlene. Maybe it was because she was still asleep and I didn’t get to kiss her goodbye or maybe it was the missing foot snuggles or possibly the morning coffee together. Does not really matter what stirred the feelings its the fact that after 32 years of marriage I still feel this way! I hate, which is a strong word, being away from my soul mate, my best friend, my girlfriend and my lover! She 100% completes me and makes me better. The funny line in Jerry McQuire “ You had me at hello” was true for us and I still feel the same! So you might ask what is the point of this? The point for me is that I allow myself to feel, have love in my heart and remember where it all started. It keeps my mind focused on whats important. There are many distractions in life and decisions that can put your life in the ditch! I have seen in many times and in many forms! So with that being said lets follow a simple guide to keep your mind on track do what the holy scriptures say:
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, THINK ON THESE THINGS!
I have found as I grow older how important this one simple scripture, which is one of my favorites, can help guide your life. Its a simple thought test…. True, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy. Now that is a great list to follow. The opposite of that however is a huge magnet to our life and subconscious because negativity is everywhere. Protect your mind and your thoughts. I can tell you with confidence you will have a better life, a happy life, make better decisions and most assuredly attain more success! Whats on your mind?
