IT'S A CHOICE

We are wrapping up Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday which is now Cyber Week. I am always reflective during this time of the year because I truly enjoy the holiday season. Christmas has always been something I enjoy and anticipate as it approaches. It is not about Santa even though my home is filled with Santa’s we have collected over last 32 years. It is not about Christmas trees even though we have those too.. To me it is about what the season means. I know you think I am going to say its about the remembering the birth of Jesus and that’s true and we celebrate his birth, nativity scenes, star in the east, etc. If you follow me you know my life is about Jesus and following him , so its not a once a year deal for me. What is really special to me about the season is the generosity of people! IT’S A CHOICE to be generous, to give gifts, to donate money to charities, to help feed the homeless, to be secret Santa to people in need. I can go on and on and that is what makes this time of the year amazing! It is why I like this time of year because the basic goodness of people comes out. IT’S A CHOICE to lay down negative influences, politics, even religious beliefs and be nice to others. I think it represents what is best, what is most Christ like, what is possible in humanity. It is like my favorite Christmas show the “Grinch” who is redeemed by the kindness of others! We all have this power to be generous, be kind and to love each other. IT’S A CHOICE!
