All We Have is Our Health

My head is spinning right now with all the things I want to say…. All we have is our health and if you don’t believe it’s true just wait until you get sick!! At that point, when you are basically helpless and can only think about getting well, it might be too late or very difficult to recover fully! Now in my mid-fifties I understand this more than ever. I believe with everything in my heart and mind that this is the most important thing I can do on a daily basis! If I plan to be a healthy and vibrant well into my 80’s or 90’s I have to be very focused on this now! I have been surrounded recently with people friends, family and people I know struggling with major disease processes and the pain both physically and financially that goes along. My goal is not to give you a solution today as much as make you aware of how we think as Americans. We want what we want and we want it now!! I can tell you that pretty much everything of value takes time, consistency and determination to accomplish. I know nobody wants to hear it takes a year, two years, or five years. Yesterday, I was talking to several men about this and not surprising it was all important on some level to them, but all more focused on immediate results like get rid of wrinkles, lose weight, etc. Not nearly as worried about their high blood pressure, diabetes or heart issues! By the way all present in this particular group. I told them my story of changing my diet and taking customized vitamins just for me. That I turned my severe arthritis inflammation and early Alzheimer’s diagnosis around, BUT it took over two years! Wow… I personally think that’s amazing and best thing I could have ever done for my long term health. Most people won’t start a two or three year plan until they are laying on their back in the hospital wondering if they are going survive. What is really sad is only 10% of those people statistically do anything to change. So back to my original point the only thing have is our Health!! I am super passionate about this and will help anyone who asks me. I just wish I had started on this journey with I was in my 20’s or 30’s not late in my 40’s!! A long healthy life is possible and like my wife Darlene says… “ I plan on fully living until I die, not living until I am DYING! “
