Racism... the golden rule

I have been hesitant to even say this word because of the current media and political climate regarding "Racism" , but I read a blog from a good friend that inspired me and just had to say something. I believe that racism is tearing away at the very foundation of our country. It starts with the Golden Rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!" , but it is way deeper.

The bible clearly says a couple of things.

1) We are made in the image of God. Not in the image a black, white, yellow or red God just God! (Gen.1:26,27)

2) Love one another just as Christ has loved you. Simply put we are in Gods image and we are commanded to love each other. (John 13:34,35)

This is not a feeling it is a CHOICE! Its a choice to give grace and mercy just like you want it given to you when you make mistakes or bad choices. Out intolerance of others is crazy. I love what Jesus said " He who is without sin cast the first stone." We have to stop throwing stones and start extending our hands to help, love, serve, support, encourage, and give what you have others. Not about race but about being a good person! You are probably reading this and agree on some level if not entirely. So its your choice to reach out today and be nice to all people not just the ones that look like you! A person who chooses to believe the best even if the worst is displayed. It truly starts with one person and grows. If the thousands of people who follow me would extend love to all the people in their path today hundreds of thousands of people would be effected if not millions. You can make a difference. Stand up and be counted as a person who will not participate in Racism! I challenge you to get out of your routine "rut" and break down the walls of racism around you! One person at a time...
