People are CRAZY!!

I use to think I had heard everything, but it seems daily I am reminded of how crazy people can be. I am not talking about terrorism and murder even though that is a different kind of crazy. I am talking about the decisions people make every day. The little steps that lead to bigger steps that ultimately lead to CRAZY! Here is what I mean when I say crazy. I am talking about people making decisions that will destroy their life, their families and their friendships. When you look at these people who we all know, and have watched them self destruct and we have all said WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

You don’t wake up one morning and say I am going to wreck my life. You do it thru making small bad decisions over time. You begin to believe you are OK because nothing happened, you didn’t get caught, or you say I deserve it, etc. So, you continue down the path and the only way I know how to explain it… It just ROTES YOUR BRAIN! My best friend and Pastor Keith Craft said to me over 30 years ago “Sin always takes you farther than you want to go!” So powerful and so true. It literally sneaks up on us by our actions. We tell a small lie and it leads to a life of being a liar …. We start drinking to medicate and it leads to being an alcoholic… we see nude pictures and it leads to a porn addition…. we entertain an inappropriate conversation from someone and it leads to an affair, we read a book or hear an opinion from someone and we question if there is a God! I can go on and on, but hopefully you get the point. We little by little take steps that lead us to what appears to be CRAZY! Its not crazy… it’s the little small things that get you there!

Here is what I know, it’s like a GPS that directs a plane or ship. Hundreds of small corrections to stay on the right path to end up where you planned! It has to be a daily plan. Correct our thoughts, control our anger, choose to be positive, taking steps to learn, focus on our integrity, align yourself with right people, make sure it lines up with your Core Values ( what matters most ) and the last and most powerful remain centered on Christ. Choosing to follow Christ will not make you immune to sin or bad decisions, but it will certainly give you a course to get back on track when you drift off! I could write a book about this and maybe I will! You can have an amazing life and you can start any time. You just have to be intentional about the small daily decisions that add up to a Blessed Life!
