FREEDOM?
What is freedom? Is it just the ability to do what you want when you want, or it is really something much greater? Is it something that effects those around you and the future. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Freedom is not the right to live as we please, but the right to find how we ought to live in order to fulfill our potential.” For me it is something much deeper.
Freedom is living in a great country that fights for your right to be free.
Freedom is being able to worship the Almighty God without persecution.
Freedom is having the ability to choose your path. Doing something that you enjoy and have passion to accomplish.
Freedom is being able to speak openly about anything. I prefer the positive use of freedom of speech, but cannot judge those who choose to hate or be negative.
Freedom is the ability to have a home.
Freedom is traveling anywhere you want.
Freedom is having the opportunity of education. To read and learn anything!
Freedom is becoming the best you not limited by what others think.
I could keep going on this list and I am sure as you read this you have your own freedoms! I would encourage you to think about your list of freedoms and write them down, so they are planted in your mind! There are always people in the world who want to oppress, control, or even worse make all your decisions. There have already been two world wars over this exact thing. Remember that God is in control. In Jeremiah 29:11 the bible says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
My encouragement today is to understand and enjoy the freedoms given to you. Don’t take them for granted and know God’s plan for you is to be FREE!
